I know lots of people love the Skyactiv G engines. I do too, however since there is a recall for the cylinder deactivation. Vehicles have cylinder deactivstion will soon haveoil burning problems, wear and etc It is not just Mazda, other brands have this problem too. Many people wants to disable it.
The SkyActiv-X 2.0-litre engine contains four cylinders and doesn’t have a turbo. It actually uses a tiny supercharger to whack all that air into the cylinder.

When you say it’s the CX-5, it has both 2.5L with CD and 2.5T, but when it’s the CX-9, it’s only the 2.5T. The cylinder head assembly is deferent between these two engines. Based on the very recent TSB 01-013/21 for coolant leak on the 2.5T, the leak happens at the cylinder head around the exhaust manifold.

The five-door Mazda3 Skyactiv is slightly less fuel-efficient, with 27 / 38 MPG for the manual and 28 / 39 MPG for the automatic. Blame it on the aerodynamics. The i Touring and i Grand Touring sedans are the most aerodynamic of the 2012 Mazda3’s with a Coefficient of drag of just 0.27.
